Our society is saddened to have learned that Tom Cavalier-Smith, one of the most influential scientists in the field of evolutionary protistology over the past decades, has passed away last week.

We will re-start our ISEP seminar series again this spring and plan a symposium in collaboration with ISOP dedicated to Tom (details to come soon).
We made available a ‘memory board’ here. Tom has influenced a lot of people and we would like to provide a space for everybody to share thoughts, photos, memories, and anecdotes.
